Wentworth Falls has a pronounced mix of exposed sandstone country and sheltered, damp vegetation. NSW National Parks describes the nearby Nature track passing through heathland, fern-rich rainforest and swamp environments. The contrast matters: an open garden and the gully below it offer very different shelter, moisture and sun exposure.
For a property owner, the useful boundary is the change from maintained space to dense cover. A deck above a slope, a wood store against a retaining wall or a garden beside drainage can provide concealed space close to the house. This is habitat-based guidance, not evidence that a particular street or walking track has a high current snake count.

A useful example of the area's wet gully and swamp habitats. Stay on established tracks, give wildlife room and check National Parks alerts before a walk.
Garden-to-gully boundaries
On your own property, pay attention to where lawns end at dense vegetation, steps descend below decks or drainage passes beneath groundcover. Observe from open space; do not search through the cover.
Wood stores and outbuildings
Stored firewood, gardening materials and quiet sheds deserve a planned tidy-up when no snake is present. If a snake has just entered one, leave everything undisturbed.

A snake disappears under a raised deck
Do not crawl beneath the deck, remove boards or try to drive the snake out with water. Tell us which side it entered, when you last saw it, and whether the space connects to the subfloor. A fixed landmark such as the left-hand stair post is more useful than a guess at the species.
Bring people and pets into a separate safe area without crossing the snake's path. If the deck overlooks a steep slope, describe the access from the street before the catcher arrives. Wet stairs, narrow side passages and locked gates can affect how equipment reaches the search area.
